Lodge Activities

For our younger visitors we arrange early morning walks to learn how to track game & identify “spoor”, & pass on useful information about the more common game on the farm.

We also have a range of wild life videos to keep everyone enthralled on those rare occasions when we get adverse weather.

Special short walks can be arranged, where we will inevitably find an ants nest, probably some lizards, maybe a beetle or two, & possibly even a scorpion.

And of course there is the jungle gym complete with swings, a slide, rope ladder, etc.

Our “Kids” Lounge is equipped with a TV, board games, puzzles, storybooks and colouring books.

Push bikes are also available for the small fry. Older kids are also welcome to bring their bikes along to ride on the roads around the Lodge.

The birdlife is prolific, with over 200 different types of birds having been spotted in the vicinity.

These include secretary birds, barn & pearl spotted owls, hamerkop, hoopoe, red crested korhaan, woodland kingfisher, yellow-billed & grey hornbills, guinea fowl & francolin to name just a few. Many can be seen in the vicinity of the lodge & at the water hole close to the lodge.
